At prices starting about $9,000 apart, both of these models have features to meet your wants and needs. The XLT MAX starts at $55,140 while the Limited MAX is a step above that at $64,175.

Standard Functionality

When it comes to the MPG, Engine, Transmission and Drivetrain, both Expeditions are equipped with the same capabilities. The best-in-class EPA-estimated fuel economy for both models comes in at 17mpg city and 23mpg highway. They both include a 10-speed SelectShift® Automatic Transmission, which provides an improved responsiveness and performance during acceleration. They both come with the Non-Limited-Slip 3.31 rear axle, and also have the ability to upgrade it’s already powerful drivetrain, with additional attractive features including: Intelligent 4 Wheel Drive, Electronic Limited-slip Differential 3.73 rear axle, and Two-Speed Automatic 4 Wheel Drive with Neutral Towing Capability.

 

Infotainment Conveniences 

The infotainment systems for these vehicles are really something else! Both models come with Wi-Fi hotspot, SYNC® 3 - Enhanced Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment Systems, FordPass Connect™, SOS Post-Crash Alert System™, and SiriusXM® Radio. However if you are specifically looking for more advanced technological features, the Limited MAX will probably fit that expectation a little bit better. The Limited MAX adds the convenience of Wireless Charging and the luxurious listening experience of the B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen, which, among other upgrades, ups the number of speakers from 8 to 12 making the vehicle your very own surround sound studio.
