Overview
The 2023 Ford Maverick will have a few changes for the new release, most of them mechanical upgrades. A new trim also joins the lineup: the Tremor Off-Road model with a more fierce exterior than its fellow trims. Curious to know what changes were made for 2023? Read on.
Trims
Below are the current estimates for the 2023 Ford Maverick trims:
- XL: $23,000
- XLT: $25,000
- Lariat: $29,000
- XLT Tremor Off-Road: $31,000
- Lariat Tremor Off-Road: $34,000
Power
The 2023 Ford Maverick’s standard engine is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder paired to an electric motor that produces 191 horsepower. A non-hybrid powertrain is also available: an optional 2-liter 4-cylinder paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission with 250 hp. With the Towing Package, it can pull up to 4000 pounds and give an incredible 1500 pounds of payload capacity. It can tow up to 2,000 pounds. While the non-hybrid engine gets 23/30 mpg, the hybrid engine gets 42/33 mpg. Excellent fuel efficiency that will remain for 2023. Some mechanical changes include upgrades in the all-wheel drive system such as a twin-clutch rear differential that can be opened or locked depending on traction. The Tremor trim also gets Ford’s Trail Control System which enables slow cruising for winding roads.
Interior
One of the most fascinating features is the Flexbed, which lets you tailor your bed (4.5–6 ft) using a removable wire that can support up to 300 pounds and can be adjusted to slant the tailgate differently. Additionally, plastic panels have been installed along the sides to improve loading and unloading and shield you and your truck from dings and scratches. Also featured are a small lockable pocket, a power outlet, strategically positioned lights inside the bed, and a built-in bottle opener.
The Maverick incorporates recycled materials, contemporary styling, and brilliant colors that are customized to each customer's own preferences. Perhaps 2023 will introduce additional exterior hues, but for 2022, the colors available were: Black & Navy Pier in the XLtrim, Navy Pier, Scout Orange & light gray in the XLT, or a Desert Brown and Navy Pier combination in the Lariat. Even the back seat, which lifts up to expose storage space or folds down completely for extra, offers a wide and stable seating posture. Other features include:
