Will there be any changes to the 2024 Ford Maverick?
We don’t expect any big changes for the upcoming Maverick! Like you, we’re hoping Ford will update this compact truck with the SYNC 4 infotainment system. And we’d love to see an all-wheel-drive hybrid Maverick as well! As of this writing, though, we don’t know exactly what’s in the cards for the 2024 Maverick.
Will the 2024 Maverick be a plug-in hybrid?
Ford has no plans for a Maverick PHEV as of this writing. But the Maverick’s standard hybrid powertrain is so efficient that there’s no need to pay more for a plug-in hybrid. At no extra cost, this base engine delivers 37 mpg combined(40 city/33 highway). We believe the 2024 Ford Maverick will feature the same powertrain options as last year, but Ford could always retool its hardware for greater fuel economy or more power. We’ll update this space when we know more!
The 2023 Maverick powertrain specs include:
- Standard 2.5L four-cylinder hybrid engine (191 horsepower, 155 lb-ft of torque) and continuously variable transmission
- Optional turbo 2.0L four-cylinder engine (250 hp, 277 lb-ft) and eight-speed automatic transmission
- Front-wheel drive
- Optional all-wheel drive (2.0L engine only)
Which features will be available for the 2024 Ford Maverick?
Although Ford hasn’t made any big announcements about the upcoming Maverick, we suspect that this compact truck will be available with the same three trim levels: the entry-level XL, mid level XLT, and top-tier Lariat. Since we don’t expect any big changes for the 2024 model year, we can look to last year’s Maverick to see what to expect here. However, when we learn more about this coming truck, we’ll update this space as needed!
XL
The entry-level XL not only comes at a great price, but it’s nicely equipped with modern amenities, from power accessories to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Outside, this Maverick helps you find your way with LED headlights. Inside, you’ll find roomy cloth seating and convenient under-seat rear storage compartments. The forward collision mitigation system helps you avoid trouble!
XLT
The mid level Maverick adds a few upgrades that come unhandy, like a power-locking tailgate and a rear center armrest with cupholders. The upgraded cloth upholstery is road-trip friendly. Outside, aluminum alloy wheels are a step up from the XL’s standard steel wheels.
Lariat
For comfort-inducing finishing touches (like dual-zone automatic climate control and a power-adjustable driver’s seat), this is the Maverick for you! This truck is also available with the Lariat Luxury package, which takes style to the next level, with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the SYNC 3 infotainment interface.
When can I build a 2024 Ford Maverick?
Rumor has it that order banks for the 2024 Maverick will open up sometime in late July 2023! We’ll update this space as soon as we know more.
