2023 Ford Mustang
The Rundown
The Chevrolet Camaro will no longer be produced after 2023. Not only is the Chevy Camaro being discontinued in the coming years but the Dodge Challenger and Charger will also stop production by the end of 2023. For fans of American made muscle, this seems like a load of bad news. Mustang fans have been getting worried especially, wondering if they are seeing the writing on the wall. Fortunately for us, Ford plans on making the Mustang for years to come. The Mustang is returning in 2023, and in 2024 we cannot wait for the new generation of the Mustang. We are happy to say that the Pony car will continue well into the next few years. The 2023 Mustang is the last iteration of the 6th generation, and because of this Ford has packed it full of features.
What Engines are Available on the 2023 Ford Mustang?
The Ford Mustang comes available with a wide array of engines, but instead of starting with the base engine, we are going to start with the most Mustang engine there is, the V-8. There are 2 V-8 engines available, the first is the engine on the GT trim. This V-8 outputs 450 horses. The more powerful V-8 is found on the returning Mach 1 trim, with 470 horses. There is an optional active exhaust for the V-8 engine that makes the Mustang scream on the road. The standard engine might not be the V-8 we all want but it still packs a punch. The ecoboost 4 cylinder 310 horsepower engine comes standard on the Mustang and has the option to be enhanced up to 330 horses. The two engines come paired with either a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic. The six-speed manual is our favorite, but the ten-speed is now faster than the manual option. With either engine option or transmission, the Mustang is powerful and lives up the famed performance of the long-lasting muscle car. It handles like your wildest dreams and must be driven as if it was stolen.
What Trim Levels Are Available on the 2023 Mustang?
The Mustang trims are extremely easy to navigate, they revolve mostly around the engine available on that trim. The ecoboost engine starts at $29,000 and features the 310-horsepower engine with four cylinders. Next in line is the ecoboost premium with the 330-horsepower engine also with four cylinders. The V-8 is available with the GT trim, and features technology upgrades and cosmetic upgrades. Then the Mach-1 has the upgraded V-8 with 470 horses. The Mach-1 is the final trim level before the Shelby GT-500, with the best that the Mustang and Ford have to offer. The Shelby GT-500 is the pinnacle of the Mustang but comes with a heavy price tag at around $80,000. With the cosmetic flair we all love, the Shelby has cobra badging on top of being the fastest iteration of the Mustang.
Summary
With Americans losing some muscle, we all got a little scared we would lose our favorite muscle backed pony. The Mustang will continue into 2023 and beyond, with the upcoming 7th generation set to debut in 2024. This powerful coupe delivers it all with its various engines and powertrains, and for all the manual lovers out there the Mustang still has its six-speed transmission. The 2023 Mustang closes out the 6th generation of the most famous muscle car, and it does it in style.
