To get this turbodiesel engine, however, you not only need to pay extra for the engine, but you also need to upgrade to one of the four-door Wrangler Unlimited models. The Wrangler’s base V6 isn’t nearly as efficient, earning up to 21 mpg combined (20/24 mpg).
