Compared to the bigger F-150 for the smaller Maverick, Ford’s midsize truck strikes a nice balance between trucking utility and trucking costs. Depending on body style and equipment, the Ranger is EPA-rated to earn up to 23 mpg combined (21 city/26 highway). And it’s also great at moving your stuff, providing very competitive towing and hauling capabilities.
This new Ranger is available as three trim models, allowing shoppers to balance their budgets according to which features they want. The entry-level XL offers the lowest price, as well as a healthy dose of comfort (with roomy, supportive seating) and tech gear (Wi-Fi connectivity, forward collision mitigation). The mid-range XLT adds more infotainment features, including an 8-inch central touchscreen and smartphone integration (via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay). If it’s luxury you can’t live without, check out the Lariat, which adds leather upholstery and LED headlights.
